Description Gravity Haus Revelstoke is looking for a practical, proactive Maintenance & Public Areas Lead who takes ownership of the property and leads by example. This is a highly hands-on role, with approximately 95% of your time spent maintaining, repairing, cleaning, and caring for the property—not sitting behind a desk. You’ll be responsible for keeping the hotel safe, functional, clean, and well-presented, with the autonomy to identify priorities, take action, and resolve issues without waiting for direction. You’ll own day-to-day repairs and preventative maintenance, proactively address developing problems before they impact guests, and coordinate specialized vendor support when required. Revelstoke’s seasons bring very different property needs, so success in this role means planning ahead and making sure the property is ready before the weather and operating conditions change. Key Responsibilities Maintenance & Property Care

  • Own and execute the property’s preventative maintenance program, including inspections, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Complete hands-on repairs throughout guest rooms and common areas, including minor plumbing, basic electrical troubleshooting, painting, drywall, furniture, fixtures, doors, and locks.
  • Perform routine care and basic troubleshooting of guestroom PTAC units.
  • Maintain the hotel’s 10-person hot tub, including cleaning, testing, chemical balancing, and required documentation.
  • Maintain tools, parts, filters, chemicals, equipment, and other maintenance supplies.
  • Identify issues early and resolve them internally whenever practical. Public Areas & Guest Experience
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout public and back-of-house areas.
  • Oversee the condition of entrances, hallways, public washrooms, gym, patios, exterior areas, and other shared spaces.
  • Respond to maintenance and property-related guest needs with a practical, service-oriented approach.
  • Take pride in the overall appearance, functionality, and condition of the property. Leadership & Vendors
  • Prioritize daily work and ensure preventative and reactive maintenance needs are addressed.
  • Coordinate vendors and contractors when specialized work is required.
  • Monitor completed work and ensure issues are properly resolved. Who You are
  • 3+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a hotel, resort, residential, commercial building, or property environment.
  • Strong practical skills in general maintenance and repair.
  • Experience troubleshooting basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, doors, fixtures, drywall, and other building systems.
  • Organized and proactive approach to preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing needs, and make practical decisions.
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round in Revelstoke’s seasonal conditions.
  • Hospitality or resort experience is an asset.
  • Pool or hot-tub operator certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain required training.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide direction to another team member. Physical Requirements
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and kneeling throughout shift
  • Able to respond quickly to emergencies and reach all areas of the hotel
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays About Gravity Haus Gravity Haus is a community-driven adventure lifestyle brand with hotels, restaurants, and experiences that empower a modern way of travel.
