Job Description: General Summary: Our Process Mechanical Engineering group is involved in projects that include mechanical process systems, industrial ventilation systems, fume and dust collection, paint finishing systems, powder pneumatic conveyance, tank farms and specialty fluids. The Project Manager serves as the project team leader and liaison between the project team, the client and internal management. The PM participates in day-to-day project activities and is responsible for controlling project activities to contain cost, meet deadlines, satisfy client’s expectations and maintain positive client relationships. Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage the development of all project deliverables and quality standards required to meet internal and client deliverables.
  • Be familiar with all contract documents and all project(s) objectives including client standards and code requirements where necessary.
  • Develop plans for executing and controlling projects, including but not limited to, schedules, budgets, resource management, and change management.
  • Monitor that all engineering calculations are properly prepared and that the review of contractor calculations and deliverables is performed in a timely fashion according to the scope of the project.
  • Be accountable for the quality of program deliverables both internally and with the client.
  • Maintain positive internal team morale, providing direction and coaching as needed.
  • Effectively and efficiently coordinate, conduct, and document client, project, job review, bid, open issues, kick-off, lessons learned, and other types of meetings.
  • Ensure that projects are closed out according to internal procedural requirements and client requirements.
  • Define approval process and timing, both internally and with the client, for review of all project deliverables.
  • Make sure all project team members are appropriately safety trained, orientated to possible hazards and properly outfitted with personal protective equipment when going or working onsite.
  • Prepare and monitor all invoicing from pre-approval through client approval and follow-up to ensure timely payments both to Ghafari and from Ghafari to sub-contractors.
  • Support business development initiatives by participating in proposal / estimate development and by participating in sales and marketing efforts.
  • Available to travel with periodic overnight visits to client facilities or suppliers in North America or international locations. Employment Qualifications: Education:
  • BS degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university preferred or a four-year college degree in an engineering discipline.
  • A Master’s Degree is preferred, however not required. Experience :
  • 10 or more years of progressively more responsible previous experience. Skills/Competencies :
  • Familiarity with the processes associated with general industrial fabrication, product finishing, and assembly systems, including battery manufacturing, is beneficial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Open to learning and eager to develop skills, with the potential to contribute to other areas within the organization.
  • Strong leadership skills that highlight a passion for client satisfaction, quality, team building, creative problem solving, critical thinking, mentoring and conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software, including MS Project, with strength in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized and able to effectively manage a large amount of data and communications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus. Experience with AutoCAD 3D and Revit is a plus.
