Job Description Job Family Summary: The Specialty Engineering job family encompasses a range of roles focused on the development and implementation of specialized engineering solutions. These roles contribute to and execute strategies within the team or organization, often at a site, country, or cluster level. Job Description: This role works on a global scale to manage the Electrical Safety network, systems, and standards. We’re looking for a passionate electrical engineer to lead the diverse network and implement new tools to continuously improve our tools and approaches to the work. The Power Systems & Electrical Safety Technology Leader role key responsibilities include:

  • Provide front end engineering support for Projects and large Plant power system projects in the area of power delivery, cogeneration, large utility power system expansions and general building electrical systems not directly related to the process. This person will lead the global network in advancing the power technology for today’s needs and identifying methodologies and technologies for tomorrow.
  • Find innovative improvements in power system technology that we can reapply to improve power system resiliency and cost, reduce construction and ongoing maintenance requirements, and solvetechnical challenges. This person will become an innovation leader for power systems technology.
  • Lead the Global Electrical Safety Program. Global exposure to all sites and engineering organizations. Address key challenges within the network and communicate/facilitate the sharing of new information and applications.
  • Oversee Global Electrical Safety training program and ensure network capability, including traveling 25% for business needs such as Electrical Safety Audits and classroom training.
  • Direct project/site support as needed. Job Qualifications
  • Previous experience with safety systems and team management.
  • Previous qualification in electrical systems / ICA
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical, Safety Engineering, Mechanical, or other related fields as well as an interest in Power related technology and equipment systems ranging from Low Voltage to High Voltage (>36KV). This person should have passion for this type of technical work. Preference is for candidate to have working experience with power delivery equipment and systems. Knowledge of P&G's electrical safety program would be considered a plus.
  • Candidates must be capable and willing to profitably apply their engineering expertise on various and multiple projects to meet the business need as regards to power systems. Preference is they should have strong construction experience and be able to recognize poor installations (and relate those findings to relative codes governing the electrical installations.)
  • Working experience with low voltage substation application and installation is desired. Experience with medium voltage switchgear design and installation is also recommended. Experience supporting power systems projects is desirable. Experience with medium voltage motors, and motor protective relays is a plus but not required.
  • Technical understanding and working experience with the various electrical/power regulations and codes globally. The ability to locate and use other country codes is needed as well as the ability to functionally understand their intent. The person will become familiar with local and regional standards regarding electrical safety codes EN 50110 and NFPA 70E. You must have the ability to take ownership of all P&G Power and Control Practices.
  • The ability to effectively communicate your knowledge and experience to others using verbal and/or written skills. This role requires the individual to make small and large group presentations on a frequent basis. Sometimes the audience will include VP level managers. The candidate must know how to use or be willing to learn live distance learning tools.
  • This is a global organization therefore a candidate must possess the ability to work across organizational, regional and cultural barriers. This role requires strong collaboration skills when working with project teams, customers, or vendors from all regions of the world. This role is an engineering support role for Organization Units and requires a customer focused mind set.
  • Candidates will be expected to be able to learn to understand and interpret Short circuit studies, coordination studies and flash hazard levels. Be able to coach and support sites in the resolution of overdutied equipment, implementation of coordination recommendations and understand and interpret impact on execution of these recommendations on the overall power structure. Working experience performing or reviewing these types of studies is desirable.
  • Can manage and perform multiple tasks at the same time. The candidate must be capable of setting priorities effectively and managing high workloads. Be a self-starter and work openly and collaborate with others in the power section and our external engineering partners. 3-5+ years of engineering experience in the following:
  • Any previous systems or governance experience.
  • Electrical or Power Systems project team work, including the qualification of new equipment.
  • Experience and/or eagerness to complete electrical safety assessments and collaborating with sites to complete action plans to minimize risks.
  • Experience with evaluating external technical designs and assessments.
  • Microsoft application management, including Teams, Sharepoint, and PowerBI Skills needed to perform this role: Strong technical system and equipment skills coupled with construction know- how for the electrical technology. Effective communication skills to communicate complicated technical needs or requirements to our engineering partners and to gain support and alignment of non-electrical resources who are less familiar with our technology. What you will learn in this role: Extensive experience in power delivery equipment application and design experience. Ability to evaluate construction techniques and develop good cost-effective recommendations which will impact overall project cost. Evaluate vendor technical offerings and correctly select the best technical solutions for the application based upon customer needs.
