Life Enrichment Assistant at Luxury Senior Community

Description The Variel at Woodland Hills | Luxury Senior Living Community Responsible for assisting with the development, planning, scheduling, and implementation of engaging programs, activities, and events that support the social, physical, intellectual, emotional, and overall wellness of residents in Independent Living and Assisted Living. This role helps create meaningful experiences that encourage resident participation, connection, and an active lifestyle. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Essential Job Duties: Must be willing and able to perform the following:

• Assist with planning, coordinating, and leading a variety of resident programs and activities, including arts and crafts, entertainment, games, educational programs, social events, outings, fitness and wellness activities, and other special events.
• Assist with creating and maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly activity calendars.
• Encourage resident participation and engagement in scheduled programs and community events.
• Assist with gathering information, articles, photos, and program highlights for community newsletters and other resident communications.
• Maintain an organized and adequate supply of activity materials, games, books, puzzles, magazines, and other program supplies.
• Assist residents with technology and technology-based programs as needed.
• Support the coordination and setup of community events, resident programs, outings, and special activities.
• Build positive relationships with residents and learn their interests and preferences to help develop meaningful programming.
• Continuously bring new ideas and creative programming opportunities to enhance the resident experience.
• Assist the Life Enrichment team with additional programs and responsibilities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least two (2) years of experience in activities, life enrichment, recreation, hospitality, teaching, or a related field preferred.
• Experience working with seniors in Independent Living or Assisted Living is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and connect with residents.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to assist with multiple programs, events, and activities.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint; familiarity with Adobe products is a plus.
• Creative, energetic, and comfortable leading both small and large group activities.
• Must have a genuine passion for working with seniors and creating a positive resident experience. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently throughout the workday.
• Ability to climb, reach, bend, stoop, and twist occasionally and move safely throughout the kitchen.
• Medium work: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with assistance occasionally.
• Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds with assistance occasionally.
• Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment, including mixers, knives, ovens, steam tables, steamers, slicers, ranges, grills, and griddles.
• Ability to recognize auditory signals, including kitchen timers and verbal communication in a busy kitchen environment.
• Ability to distinguish odors associated with food preparation, food storage, cleanliness, and sanitation.
• May be exposed to heat, steam, cold temperatures, cleaning chemicals, and other typical kitchen conditions.
