Description Paramount Events is seeking a skilled and dependable Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about pastry, takes pride in quality and presentation, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The Pastry Cook will support our pastry program across both catering events and our restaurant eden, contributing to a collaborative kitchen focused on consistency, creativity, and an exceptional guest experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce a variety of pastries for the Paramount Events catering, as well as our on-site restaurant, eden
  • Take count of and maintain inventory for consistently produced items
  • Note when product is needed, and sharing with Pastry Chef and/or Pastry Chef de Cuisine
  • Note of any changes, edits and/or discrepancies between production lists and event paperwork
  • Uphold sanitation and food safety standards, maintaining clean and tidy work areas
  • Ensure all food safety measures are followed: proper cooling and storage of prepared foods, proper handling of all “Ready to Eat” foods, proper thawing, and heating methods.
  • Ensure all opening/closing duties are being met correctly and consistently
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is being handled properly when in use and stored properly when not in use, note when equipment/items are not functioning Requirements QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Food Handler's certification
  • 2+ years of related experience, preferably in a high-volume setting
  • Basic pastry/baking knowledge including plated desserts, petite sweets, and laminated doughs
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English
  • Ability to read and follow recipes
  • Effectively prioritize tasks while demonstrating good time management
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and lift at least 50 pounds
