Air Traffic Control Specialist (Terminal)

Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. • Create and manage Air Traffic Control (ATC) training programs that comply with Department of the Army regulations.
• Serve as the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Standardization and Training Manager for the Fort Bragg Airfield Division.
• Manage ongoing proficiency training tailored for each Air Traffic Control (ATC) facility.
• Develop course outlines, instructional materials, visual aids, simulated non-radar control problems, and other special training aids or methods of instruction for ATC facilities.
• Direct air traffic safely, orderly, and efficiently within assigned sectors. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that includes training Air Traffic Control Specialists on day-to-day operations; AND assist with the development of a air traffic training program; AND coordinating the flow of air traffic within the assigned sector. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement above, applicants must also be a graduate of a DoD component or FAA approved formal Air Traffic Controller school and possess Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) and/or Control Tower Operator (CTO) certification You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
