Discover more via our website. Your next career opportunity: You will leverage deep STEMM expertise to assess research security risks, advise on mitigation and support secure collaborations. You will guide researchers through complex export control, sanctions and countering foreign interference requirements. What you will deliver:
• Provide timely research security risk assessments, advice and compliance reviews for STEMM projects and collaborations.
• Interpret Australian and international regulations to advise on export controls, sanctions and foreign interference obligations.
• Design and deliver training, workshops and communications that embed responsible and secure research practices.
• Monitor higher-risk research activities, manage potential non-compliance and support internal and external audits.
• Build strong relationships with researchers, professional staff and regulators to protect institutional reputation and research outcomes. You may be a great fit if you:
• Hold postgraduate qualifications in a relevant STEMM discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience and training.
• Apply detailed knowledge of research security, foreign interference guidelines and related Australian legislation to complex cases.
• Demonstrate strong analytical skills, synthesising technical information and weighing ethical and geopolitical considerations.
• Communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, including delivering engaging training, briefings and written advice.
• Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality and service excellence.
• Collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and external partners to address emerging research security risks.
