Summary This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia. Duties As a Social Science Program Specialist, you will be: Supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of human trafficking victim assistance programs, training initiatives, and public awareness activities. Identifying emerging human trafficking trends, resource needs, and service delivery challenges, and recommending strategies to strengthen victim identification, access to services, and program effectiveness. Conducting program evaluations and quality assurance activities to assess program effectiveness, document findings, monitor corrective actions, and recommend process improvements. Interpreting and applying Federal laws, regulations, policies, and guidance governing anti-trafficking programs to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and program objectives. Basic Qualifications: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. AND Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Administering grants or cooperative agreements for human trafficking programs, including monitoring performance and addressing any deficiencies. Coordinating case management, service delivery, or quality assurance activities for victim assistance or human trafficking programs. Analyzing program data, trends, emerging issues, or service gaps and preparing reports, briefings, recommendations, or other written products to support program improvement. Collaborating with Federal, state, local, Tribal, territorial, nonprofit, or other stakeholders to support human trafficking program objectives and provide technical assistance.
