Retail Clerk (Seasonal)

General Nature of

WORK: This is unskilled work responsible in assisting with the day-to-day activities of the Golf Shop. An employee in this class reports directly to the Golf Professional and/or Director of Operations for daily instruction, schedule and general duties. EQUIPMENT & JOB LOCATION: This position requires general knowledge of cash handling and customer relation skills. This person must have a general understanding of computer and phone use.

• Understands and can effectively use all office related equipment and POS software programs.
• Has basic understanding of golf merchandise and the game of golf in general.
• Responsible for accurate daily cash deposits and receipts.
• Responsible for assuring Cart Attendant’s duties have been completed.
• Must be able to relate to all customers in a consistent and friendly manner.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and stand during work shift.
• Ability to perform physical functions, including ability to lift objects and / or materials short distances (weight up to 50 lbs.).
• Maintains a neat and sanitary work environment.
• Maintains personal hygiene to departmental standards.
• Follows all opening and closing duties.
• Communicates with management regarding issues with the golf shop and carts.
• Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

• Operates equipment as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned. DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Desirable Training and

EXPERIENCE:

• A high school diploma or the equivalent; or any combination of training and experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities.

Necessary Special

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License.
• Ability to work other than normal working hours, and to work various shifts as necessary.
• Ability to be bonded.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain after employment CPR/First Aid Certification.
