Lg Nova
works with global corporations, startups, governments, and technology stakeholders to create new businesses, establish strategic partnerships, and develop a broad ecosystem using the process of “outside-in” innovation. About Us LG Nova is building an AI-powered Intelligence Layer and Development Orchestration Platform for utility-scale renewable energy development. The platform brings together project data, documents, workflows, engineering information, permitting, interconnection, financial analysis, and AI-powered intelligence to help renewable energy developers move projects from initial opportunity through development and ultimately to market—faster and with greater visibility and control. We are transitioning from proof-of-concept into commercialization and are looking for an experienced Fractional Product Manager to help turn customer requirements, domain expertise, and our technology vision into a focused, executable product roadmap. The Opportunity This is a highly hands-on role for an experienced product leader (part-time/contract), from the renewable energy industry, who can operate comfortably in an early-stage environment. You will work closely with the founders, engineering team, renewable energy development experts, customers, and advisors to define what we build, why we build it, and in what order. This is not a maintenance product-management role. We are looking for an experienced product leader who wants to help define an entirely new category of AI-powered software for renewable energy development. The ideal candidate understands that early-stage product management isn't about writing requirements and handing them to engineering. It's about understanding the renewable energy developer customer deeply, identifying the highest-value problems, making difficult prioritization decisions, and working with engineering to rapidly deliver products that customers will actually use and pay for. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Own and continuously refine the product roadmap.
- Translate the company's vision and customer feedback into clear product priorities.
- Define MVPs and prioritize features based on customer value, strategic importance, technical feasibility, and time to market.
- Establish a disciplined product-development process as the company moves from POC to commercial product.
- Maintain a clear distinction between must-have capabilities, near-term enhancements, and future opportunities. Customer Discovery & Product-Market Fit
- Work directly with renewable energy developers to understand their workflows, pain points, and technology needs.
- Participate in customer interviews, POC demos, and product feedback sessions.
- Convert customer feedback into actionable product requirements rather than simply collecting feature requests.
- Identify opportunities where AI can fundamentally improve the way renewable energy development is performed.
- Help establish measurable product-market-fit indicators and customer success criteria. AI Product Development
- Work closely with the engineering and AI teams to identify where AI can provide differentiated value.
- Help define AI-powered workflows, agents, predictions, recommendations, and automation.
- Ensure AI capabilities are integrated into the product experience rather than functioning as standalone features.
- Help prioritize development of NovaDeveloper's proprietary renewable-energy knowledge model, data architecture, and intelligence layer.
- Establish appropriate approaches to AI evaluation, accuracy, human review, and customer trust. Product Requirements & Execution
- Develop clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product specifications.
- Work closely with engineering to break large concepts into achievable development increments.
- Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and product demonstrations.
- Make rapid decisions when requirements or priorities are unclear.
- Ensure products are tested against the actual workflows of renewable energy developers. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the primary bridge between customers, founders, domain experts, design, engineering, and sales.
- Work closely with renewable energy development advisors to translate industry expertise into software requirements.
- Partner with sales to ensure the roadmap supports actual commercial opportunities.
- Help sales and customer-success teams understand product capabilities and limitations.
- Communicate product priorities and tradeoffs clearly to company leadership. What We're Looking For
- Approximately 10 years product management experience in the Renewable Energy industry. Preferably with building tools for the developers and IPPs.
- Project development experience
- sizing, interconnect queues, power flow studies, tools like PVsyst, PVCase, ArcGIS, financial modeling, submitting proposals, managing RFPs, supplier bids, etc.
- Significant successful product management experience, ideally including meaningful experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
- Experience taking products from concept/MVP through commercialization.
- Strong experience working directly with customers and translating customer problems into products.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with software engineering and technical teams.
- Strong understanding of product discovery, prioritization, roadmapping, requirements, and agile development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable operating with significant ambiguity and limited resources.
- Willingness to be highly hands-on. Strongly Preferred
- Experience building AI/ML-powered software products, particularly generative AI or agentic applications.
- Experience with enterprise workflow software, data platforms, knowledge graphs, or document intelligence.
- Experience in energy, renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or another complex technical industry.
- Experience working at an early-stage startup.
- Experience commercializing products with enterprise customers. The Person We're Looking For We're not looking for someone who wants to manage a large product organization. We're looking for someone who can sit down with a customer in the morning, work with an engineer in the afternoon, rewrite a product requirement that evening, and make a difficult prioritization decision the next morning.
