Description The Gund Company has an immediate opening for a full-time Experienced CNC Machine Operator to join our team! Shift: Second (3:15pm-11:45pm, Monday-Friday) Pay: $26+ based on experience; 15% shift premium Plant/Work Location: 10501-3 W. 133rd Avenue, Cedar Lake, IN 46303 About The Gund Company The Gund Company, a leader in engineered material solutions, specializes in customized electrical insulation products. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality products and excellent customer service. We are currently seeking an Experienced CNC Machine Operator to join our team. The Gund Company: Take Care of Each Other, Take Care of the Customer and Take Care of the Business Job Summary Experienced CNC Machine Operator Setups involve familiarity with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations such as profile and contour milling, boring, recessing, turning, drilling, threading, etc., to the capacity of the machine and control factor. Operates numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill. May check parts for conformance to specifications and run and set up more than one unit simultaneously. Job Duties Experienced CNC Machine Operator
- Operate multiple types of fabrication equipment
- Set-up and operate CNC machining centers in multiple cells that include but are not limited to mills, lathes, presses, routers etc.
- Perform advanced setup operations
- Perform work independently with minimal defects
- Other duties as assigned Requirements
- 5+ years of combined formal training and experience, or equivalent
- Familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures
- Broad knowledge of machining techniques
- Open to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of parts
- Intermediate math skills and/or aptitudes
- Ability to use basic measuring instruments Preferred
- Haas Vertical Mill experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing industry Work Environment
- This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to dust.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time. Benefits
