- Serves as a Mate/Dredge Control Officer aboard a Corps of Engineers vessel, stands regularly scheduled bridge watches.
- Duties consisting of complete navigation and control of the vessel steering or supervision of steering; controlling propulsion systems; operating pilothouse navigation, safety, and emergency equipment; and supervising the dredging functions.
- Directs subordinates in making repairs, applying troubleshooting techniques, and installing new equipment.
- Prepares correspondence, technical reports, status reports, fact sheets and other documentation for project execution and record keeping requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. FWS Qualifications: Selective Placement Factor (SPF): The below must be attached to your application packet to be considered for this position. Must possess and maintain a current, U.S. Coast Guard license for Master, near coastal, 1600 gross tons. Must possess and maintain an able Seafarer/able Bodied and Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC). Must possess and maintain STCW certification (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) from the US Coast Guard.
