Summary This Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist for Reasonable Accommodations (RA) position is located in the Office of Civil Rights (OCR), Office of the Director (OD). The primary purpose of the position is supporting the operations of the Reasonable Accommodations Program. Duties As an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist for Reasonable Accommodations (RA), you will perform the following duties: Leads the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) RA Program developing and implementing new Executive Order (EO) policies that result in major changes in the employment practices for the agency on a broad scale, such as introducing new policies that affect individuals with disabilities. Responsible for assessing quality and conducting technical reviews of work products for all phases of the reasonable accommodation process. Review reasonable accommodation requests and agreements for legal compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements and NSF Policy. Qualifications To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level developing and implementing program procedures, processes, and internal controls; monitoring program activities and milestones; analyzing data and program trends; and developing recommendations to improve program effectiveness, efficiency, and customer service. Experience in reasonable accommodations is preferred but not required. Note: Candidates who do not meet the qualification requirements for a Temporary Promotion or are in an Excepted Service position will be considered for a Detail. During a Detail, your current grade level and rate of pay will not change. Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Education may enhance skills required for this position; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at this level.
