Position Summary: The SAP Materials Management (MM) Analyst III is responsible for SAP Materials Management (MM) configuration and support within an SAP S/4HANA environment, covering procurement, inventory management, material valuation, and the physical and financial controls over inventory and operating materials and supplies, in support of a large-scale, greenfield SAP S/4HANA financial management modernization program for a Department of War (DoW) organization. The analyst independently owns assigned configuration scope, leads workshops for that scope, and resolves moderately complex integration and valuation issues spanning materials management, finance, and asset accounting. This position operates at Level III of the C5MI job architecture and contributes to delivery across a five-gate milestone structure spanning pre-design approval, preliminary design review, critical design review, production readiness review, and closeout. Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Configures and owns assigned SAP S/4HANA Materials Management scope across procurement, inventory management, material valuation, and physical inventory processes.
• Designs and configures material master and business partner data structures, including material types, valuation classes, account determination, and split valuation where required.
• Configures and troubleshoots inventory valuation and account determination, ensuring goods movements and consumption post accurately to the general ledger and controlling objects.
• Designs release strategies, approval workflows, and purchasing document controls consistent with delegated procurement authority and internal control requirements.
• Owns integration design between materials management and finance, controlling, asset accounting, enterprise asset management, and external procurement interfaces for assigned scope.
• Supports design of inventory and operating materials and supplies valuation, work-in-process treatment in coordination with product cost controlling, physical count procedures, and warehouse-to-ledger reconciliation controls.
• Handles moderately complex configuration and design work with minimal oversight, exercising judgment within established program design practices.
• Leads requirements gathering sessions and fit-to-standard workshops for assigned scope and documents the resulting functional designs and configuration rationale.
• Owns assigned deliverables end to end, including design, configuration, documentation, test execution, and defect resolution across unit, integration, and user acceptance testing.
• Mentors junior team members informally and reviews configuration and documentation produced within the assigned scope for quality and standards compliance.
• Supports authority to operate, cybersecurity, audit, and compliance activities associated with the program, including production of control evidence for assigned configuration.
• Supports cutover, go-live, and post-deployment hypercare activities for assigned scope, and contributes to transition of the delivered capability into the sustainment organization.
• Travels to client sites up to 50% to support workshops, design sessions, testing events, cutover, and go-live activities, varying based on client program schedules.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; 3-5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5-7 years of relevant experience without a Bachelor’s degree, including demonstrated experience owning deliverables and solving moderately complex problems.
• 3+ years of SAP Materials Management functional experience, including hands-on configuration of procurement, inventory management, and material valuation processes.
• Demonstrated experience with material master, business partner (vendor) master, source determination, purchasing documents, release strategies, and physical inventory.
• Working knowledge of inventory valuation and automatic account determination, and of the resulting financial postings.
• Experience with integration across materials management, finance, controlling, and asset accounting.
• Ability to exercise judgment within defined practices and handle moderately complex issues with minimal oversight.
• Demonstrated experience owning deliverables through design, configuration, testing, and documentation.
• Experience supporting multi-system SAP landscapes.
• Secret security clearance required: must hold an active Secret clearance or be able to obtain and maintain one prior to assignment (requires U.S. citizenship). Nice to Have:
• Active Secret security clearance at time of hire.
• Experience supporting federal ERP modernization programs, Department of War (DoW) SAP environments, or other defense business systems acquired under DoDI 5000.75.
• SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement, or a related SAP certification.
• Experience with accountable property processes and the requirements of DoDI 5000.64 for DoD equipment and other accountable property.
• Experience with item unique identification (IUID) and serialized material tracking.
• Experience integrating SAP procurement with federal procurement and invoicing platforms.
• Experience delivering within the SAP Activate methodology using a fit-to-standard, clean-core approach.
• Agile delivery certification (Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe, or equivalent). Compensation: In accordance with pay transparency law, the expected salary range for this position is $80,000-$95,000 annually. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
