About the Role OluKai is seeking a creative, fast-moving Junior Editor, Content & Performance to join our in-house creative team. Reporting to the Content Studio Manager, this role will focus primarily on editing high-performing video content across paid media, organic social, UGC, and digital platforms. The ideal candidate understands how to turn raw footage, campaign assets, and existing long-form content into engaging short-form creative built for today's digital audience. A major focus of this role will be supporting OluKai's growing performance creative needs. Developing and versioning performance ads, UGC-style content, product-focused creative, and other paid social assets. This person will also help extend our YouTube content into short-form organic social, identifying compelling moments and turning them into platform-native edits for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other channels. This is a hands-on editing role for someone who has strong creative instincts, moves quickly, stays organized, and wants to develop their craft within a growing in-house content team. What You’ll Do (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to)
- Edit performance-focused video content for Meta and other paid digital platforms, including product ads, UGC-style creative, campaign cutdowns, and short-form advertising.
- Create multiple hooks, cutdowns, messaging variations, aspect ratios, and iterations of paid creative to support ongoing performance testing.
- Partner with the Creative Leads from a Content and Strategy side to translate creative direction and performance insights into new video executions.
- Turn OluKai's YouTube content into compelling short-form organic content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms.
- Identify strong moments, hooks, stories, and soundbites within longer-form content that can live independently as engaging social creative.
- Edit existing campaign and production footage into additional social, paid, product, and digital assets.
- Work with UGC and creator footage to create content that feels native to social platforms while remaining consistent with the OluKai brand.
- Apply strong editing fundamentals including pacing, shot selection, music, sound design, basic color correction, typography, captions, and simple motion graphics.
- Resize and adapt creative across multiple platforms, placements, and aspect ratios.
- Help organize and maintain OluKai's growing library of video assets across internal drives, including footage, selects, project files, exports, and archived productions.
- Maintain clean and consistent project structures so footage and creative assets can be easily accessed by the broader Content and Creative teams.
- Manage multiple edits simultaneously and deliver against fast-moving social and paid-media timelines.
- Stay current on emerging social formats, editing styles, platform trends, performance creative, and creator/UGC best practices.
- Collaborate with the broader Creative, Social, Growth, Brand, and Marketing teams as needed. Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 2–4 years of professional video editing experience within an in-house creative team, agency, production company, freelance environment, or similar setting.
- Strong proficiency in Davinci Resolve.
- Working knowledge of After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Figma, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of short-form video storytelling, pacing, hooks, composition, music, and sound design.
- Experience editing content for Meta, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other digital platforms.
- Understanding of how paid social creative differs from traditional brand content, including the importance of hooks, messaging, pacing, testing, and iteration.
- Experience working with UGC or creator-style content is strongly preferred.
- Ability to take creative direction and translate feedback into polished work quickly.
- Strong organizational skills, particularly around project files, footage, asset management, and post-production workflows.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Collaborative, proactive, curious, and eager to continue developing as an editor and creative.
- Actively seeks out AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies, adapting quickly to leverage them for improved productivity, deeper insights, and more effective processes, while exercising sound judgment and maintaining compliance with organizational standards
- Passion for the OluKai brand, ocean lifestyle, storytelling, and digital culture. Nice to Have
- Experience working with performance marketing teams and iterating creative based on results.
- Familiarity with emerging AI-assisted editing and content creation tools.
- Experience working with YouTube content and repurposing long-form storytelling into short-form social. Location & Office Structure: This is an in-office hybrid position, mandatory 4 days per week in office in Irvine, CA with the option to work from home 1 day per week. Subject to change without notice as per company guidelines. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position. Benefits and Perks:
