Job Description Automotive Mechanic Technician Job Description: This position determines the final mechanical status of vehicles before the unit is set for sale. This position performs basic vehicle repairs to increase the unit's value at auction. Key Responsibilities
• Verify vehicle mechanical status determined by Operations Coordinators at check-in.
• Perform light mechanical repairs to get vehicle to run and/or drive.
• Perform necessary minor repairs to vehicles such as inflating or replacing tires, prior to parking. Communicate with Operations Coordinators to retake and update images.
• For more moderate repairs, contact local yards or distributors to find and price used parts when applicable. Contact customer directly for approval to make repairs.
• Look over vehicles for enhancement recommendations and communicate recommendations to Account.
• Maintain an organized, neat and safe bay.
• Change oil and/or transmission fluid and filters.
• Install batteries and checks electrical systems.
• Install and perform tire maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager. Who You Are You’re a quick learner – especially when it comes to cars and how they work. You’re a team player who always arrives at the shop ready to provide excellent work. You also have the following qualifications: Required:
• 1 or more years of related work experience.
• The ability to drive standard, automatic and electric vehicles.
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required Preferred:
• A high school diploma or GED
• Current ASE Certifications: G1, A4, A5 status when required by leadership. SMCOX Drug Testing To be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre-employment drug test.
