Job Description Summary Senio Field Service Engineer

  • GIS Job Description The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of Maintenance & Repair (M&R), Erection & Commissioning (E&C), troubleshooting, inspection, and other field service activities for GE Vernova equipment installed at customer sites. The role will primarily support Gas Isulated Switchgear (GIS), and g³ technology , providing technical expertise and customer support while ensuring compliance with GE Vernova’s safety, quality, and integrity standards. The position will work closely with the Field Service Manager, Project Management, Engineering, Commercial, Factory, and Customer teams to ensure successful project execution, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement through Return of Experience (REX). Key Responsibilities A. Field Service & Technical Execution
  • Execute maintenance, repair, inspection, troubleshooting, testing, erection, commissioning, and refurbishment activities for GCB, AIS, GIS and related electrical equipment.
  • Lead and coordinate the site team during maintenance and service activities at customer premises.
  • Perform site activities in accordance with approved Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Pre-Job Checklists, and project procedures .
  • Ensure all field activities are performed in accordance with applicable GE Vernova processes, technical standards, and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment-related issues and contribute to effective problem resolution.
  • Prepare accurate technical reports, service reports, inspection reports, test reports, and other required project documentation.
  • Support technical investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) when required. B. Project & Site Execution
  • Review and support the Project Management team in preparing all necessary documentation prior to site mobilization and execution.
  • Follow the approved project schedule and ensure site activities are completed within the agreed timeline.
  • Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, engineering, factory, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of site activities.
  • Identify site issues, deviations, and potential project risks and escalate them to the appropriate management level.
  • Support additional service opportunities and provide technical input for potential variation orders and service opportunities .

C. Ehs

& Quality

  • Demonstrate strong commitment to GE Vernova’s EHS culture and Zero Fatality principles .
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS, Quality, and environmental requirements .
  • Conduct and participate in toolbox meetings, pre-job briefings, risk assessments, and energy isolation/LOTO activities.
  • Stop work and immediately report unsafe conditions or activities that may create risk to personnel, equipment, or the environment.
  • Report EHS observations and incidents through the applicable GE Vernova reporting system, including Gensuite .
  • Identify, report, and support resolution of non-conformances (NCRs) in a timely manner.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, site discipline, and equipment protection. D. Tools & Test Equipment
  • Ensure all tools, special tools, measuring instruments, and test equipment are available and fit for purpose before site execution.
  • Maintain and properly store service tools and test equipment.
  • Ensure required calibration and inspection status of test equipment is maintained.
  • Report any damaged, missing, or defective tools/equipment and coordinate appropriate corrective action. E. Administration & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and timely project timesheets and service records .
  • Submit weekly timesheets through ServiceMax .
  • Submit project-related expense reports through the applicable system, including Concur .
  • Maintain up-to-date CV, competency records, training records, and certification requirements in CCL / applicable GE systems .
  • Ensure all required project and service documentation is completed and submitted within the required timeframe. F. Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Provide professional technical support to customers during service activities.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote customer satisfaction through high-quality service delivery and effective communication.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Commercial, Factory, and other stakeholders to resolve technical and execution issues.
  • Support the business by identifying potential service opportunities and providing technical feedback. G. Knowledge Sharing & People Development
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training (OJT) to junior Field Service Engineers and technicians.
  • Support competency development and knowledge transfer within the Field Service organization.
  • Provide Return of Experience (REX) from field activities to improve engineering solutions, maintenance procedures, tools, processes, and product reliability.
  • Participate in technical training and continuously develop personal technical competencies. Additional Information Relocation Assistance Provided: No
