Quality Technician

• reducing lead times for critical electrical equipment from months to days. We've raised over $23M from top-tier investors including Construct Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Transition Ventures, Sunflower Capital, Banter Capital, and SV Angel. We are seeking a Quality Technician to own the quality of every panel that leaves our factory. You'll be the bridge between design and production: verifying builds against our DTM drawings, running power-off and power-on testing, and maintaining the standards that define how Podium panels are built. You'll obtain UL 508A Manufacturer Technical Representative (MTR) qualification within 3 months of hire and join Podium's team of MTRs, applying that standard of rigor to every build you touch. You'll also work with engineering to turn what you find on the floor into better designs, better processes, and new tools that catch problems earlier and faster. What You'll Do
• Inspect in-process and completed panels against DTM schematics, panel layouts, BOMs, and wire lists, verifying component selection, placement, wiring, terminations, and labeling
• Verify UL 508A compliance on every build, including SCCR, wire sizing and ratings, spacings, enclosure type ratings, and required markings
• Perform power-off testing, including continuity, point-to-point verification, insulation resistance, torque verification, and grounding and bonding checks
• Perform power-on functional testing to verify control circuits, device operation, and interlocks before shipment
• Obtain UL 508A MTR qualification within [X] months of hire, and apply UL 508A requirements with MTR-level rigor across every inspection, test, and standard you maintain
• Own and maintain Podium's workmanship standards, inspection procedures, and test documentation
• Document nonconformances, identify root causes, and work with assembly and engineering to prevent recurrence
• Track defect and test data and use it to improve inspection methods, test fixtures, and the production process
• Test, implement, and provide feedback on new software and equipment that improve how Podium inspects and verifies panels Who You Are There are 4 values that all Podium employees are expected to demonstrate (albeit imperfectly):

• 3+ years building, testing, or inspecting industrial control panels, or an associate's or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a related field with hands-on panel experience
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wire lists fluently
• Strong electrical fundamentals, including control circuits, overcurrent protection, wire sizing, and grounding
• Hands-on experience with multimeters, megohmmeters, and torque tools
• Willingness to obtain UL 508A MTR qualification (Podium covers training and exam)
• Rigorous documentation habits and the confidence to hold a panel when something isn't right
• Able to work on your feet 8 hours/day
• Able to lift items that are 50 lbs
• Available to work in-person in Brooklyn, NY Monday through Friday Preferred for this role
• Experience with DTM; familiarity with E3, EPLAN, or AutoCAD Electrical
• Current UL 508A MTR qualification
• Experience in a UL 508A panel shop
• Experience with root-cause methods (8D, 5 Whys) or quality systems
• Comfort with spreadsheets, databases, or scripting to analyze data or build simple tools Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000
