We are seeking an experienced and motivated mechanical engineer for Plumbing & Fire Protection design to join our amazing design team! The ideal candidate will have experience in plumbing and piping design, and a demonstrated ability to contribute to projects from the initial design through final construction. The Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer will thrive in a collaborative, results-driven environment, contributing directly to the execution of our mission and vision. This role will report directly to the Plumbing & Fire Protection Team Manager. Plumbing Designer Priorities

  • Design plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of projects under the supervision of the Project Engineers and Principal in Charge (PIC).
  • Develop accurate designs complying with company drafting standards, practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports, edit specifications, and undertake technical investigation studies.
  • Coordinate internally with the plumbing, electrical and mechanical engineering, and design teams.
  • Participate in the QA/QC process, project time budgeting, milestone design review, and inter-discipline cross-checking.
  • Coordinate time and schedule to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Directly interface with clients and contribute to the overall business development of the company. What You Need
  • Minimum 2 year Associate or Technical Degree in Architectural, Mechanical or Construction Engineering degrees or similar, or in lieu of a degree: Equivalent practical work experience beyond the relevant work experience requirement.
  • Relevant work experience (4+ years) designing Plumbing and/or Fire Protection systems for MEP building construction.
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Revit 2022 software or newer (post-school experience)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building and energy codes, and working with Water/Sewer Authorities and Local Municipalities
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and time management skills
  • High level of personal integrity, professionalism, and honesty with one's own abilities
  • Effective verbal and written Communications skills.
  • Willingness to develop professionally and personally
  • Relevant certifications a plus: PE, EIT, CPD, CPD, etc.
