E-Test Product Engineering Description

• This is an Entry-level Electrical Testing (E-Test) Engineering position within HP’s imaging and printing business. Our print technology includes the merging of complex design constraints, the use of material combinations, and extensive product testing/qualification to deliver high-quality products that provide excellent end-user performance. The E-Test Engineer is responsible for owning the electrical form, fit, and function of the product, and for developing and implementing robust electrical quality systems to monitor manufacturing processes and ensure product requirements are consistently met or exceeded, resulting in exceptional end-user performance. Key Responsibilities:
• Support the development, qualification, deployment, and sustainment of automated electrical test systems used in manufacturing environments.
• Develop and execute test plans, software validation activities, risk assessments, technical documentation for new products, hardware, software releases, and process changes.
• Perform Gauge R&R studies, correlation studies, gauge capability analysis, and statistical evaluations to evaluate measurement accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
• Validate electrical test performance, resistance and voltage measurements, test methodologies, and specification justifications to support product quality and manufacturing readiness.
• Develop, validate, and maintain electrical test recipes, product configurations, and manufacturing control processes to support production, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
• Validate, troubleshoot, and support electrical test hardware development including test fixtures, pogo boards, adapter boards, calibration systems, cable assemblies, and associated manufacturing equipment.
• Perform gauge calibration and maintain calibration procedures and verification methods to ensure measurement stability and compliance with quality standards.
• Support root-cause investigations into hardware, software, process, yield, and manufacturing-related issues impacting product quality and reliability.
• Analyze manufacturing and qualification data using JMP, SQL, Power BI, and other analytical tools to identify trends, improve yield, and optimize processes.
• Investigate electrical test false failures, slip-thrus, measurement drift, process variation, and system performance issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop reporting tools, dashboards, and data analysis solutions that improve manufacturing visibility, traceability, and operational decision-making.
• Support integration of electrical test systems within manufacturing and automation environments while improving test efficiency, throughput, and equipment utilization
• Troubleshoot production issues, e-test related line-down events, and global manufacturing escalations to restore system performance and minimize operational impact.
• Partner with Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Operations, Software Development, and R&D teams to deliver robust electrical test solutions.
• Participate in technical reviews, manufacturing readiness assessments, and continuous improvement projects focused on product quality, test performance, and manufacturing efficiency Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute meaningfully to cross-functional teams.
• Use of empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to evaluate and validate component, circuit, and hardware designs.
• Use data analysis tools to proactively identify and resolve functional or manufacturing process-related issues.
• Hands-on experience with Python, PowerShell, JMP and SQL.
• Basic understanding of electronics manufacturing, silicon processing, CMOS circuits.
• Basic knowledge and use of electrical design tools and software packages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English. Preferred Skills & Experience
• Fundamental understanding of thermal ink-jet products is a plus.

• Cross-Functional Team Collaboration and Technical Communication The pay range for this role is $90,700 to $111,000 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only).
