We anticipate the need for one or more Rotating Garage Mechanic(s) to be located at the Saint Paul Service Center in Maplewood, MN. The starting rate of pay for this position will be $52.93 hourly. This position will be posted for 10 working days from October 2, 2026, to October 15, 2026. Summary: Inspect, service, repair and maintain vehicles, trailers, aerial devices and power-operated equipment. Work may be performed primarily in company service garages as well as occasional job site field work. Individual(s) selected must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision. Individual must be highly motivated, customer service driven, detail oriented and quality focused. Position will involve frequent lifting in excess of 50 pounds, as well as prolonged standing. The ability to inspect, service and diagnose as well as properly make minor and major repairs to electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, gasoline and diesel systems are key success factors for this position. This position will work a Monday through Friday schedule, 8 hours per day, 2:00pm to 10:30pm. Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- An accredited journeyman with a minimum of five years verifiable experience in the automotive/truck field is required.
- A two-year technical, vocational or trade school diploma or degree in automotive, truck, and/or heavy equipment service repair and maintenance is desired.
- Must either currently possess or be able to obtain a Minnesota Annual Vehicle Inspectors certification.
- Must meet driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR Parts 382 and 391 including the possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or obtain within 6 months of hire, as well as Drug/Alcohol testing as required by the DOT
- Applicant must have the ability to read and understand the English language, perform basic mathematics and possess basic computer skills.
- Furnish own tools, standard and metric in accordance with the Dept tool list.
- A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times
- Frequent lifting in excess of 50 pounds, as well as prolonged standing or driving. Special Requirements:
- Fluid Power Society and/or ASE certifications desired.
- Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent written and verbal communications.
- Provide consistent quality customer satisfaction.
- Must maintain a high level and awareness of safety, with a demonstrated commitment to working safely and effectively.
