Department: Assistant Facilities Manager * Department's Website: uada.edu Summary of Job Duties: The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and overseeing maintenance, repair, renovation, and preventive maintenance activities for facilities, grounds, and building systems. The position provides leadership in maintaining safe, functional, and efficient facilities through inspection, planning, contractor coordination, project management, and staff supervision. The Maintenance Coordinator works closely with management to establish maintenance priorities, monitor facility conditions, and ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements. Job Duties
- Coordinate, schedule, and oversee maintenance and repair activities for buildings, grounds, and facility systems.
- Helps develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance programs.
- Conduct facility inspections to identify repair, replacement, and renovation needs.
- Helps determine whether maintenance work should be performed in-house or by outside contractors.
- Prepare cost estimates for maintenance, repair, and renovation projects.
- Monitor contractors and verify quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate maintenance activities involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and other building trades.
- Assist management with project planning, budgeting, and facility improvement priorities.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Other duties ass assigned Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus, six years of experience involving facilities maintenance and repair or a related area. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of building construction, maintenance, repair methods, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance practices.
- Ability to develop and administer preventive maintenance programs.
- Ability to estimate project costs, labor, materials, and equipment requirements.
- Ability to inspect facilities and evaluate maintenance and repair needs.
- Ability to coordinate contractors and monitor work quality.
- Ability to maintain records, reports, and maintenance schedules.
- Ability to supervise employees and coordinate daily work assignments.
