Work Schedule Second Shift (Afternoons) Environmental Conditions Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Standing for full shift, Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Warehouse, Will work with hazardous/toxic materials Job Description Material Handler II – Shipping Department Location: Tracy, California Department: Distribution / Shipping Position: Material Handler II Position Summary The Material Handler II – Shipping is responsible for supporting daily outbound shipping operations within the Tracy Distribution Center. This role ensures customer orders are accurately scanned, consolidated, palletized, staged, and loaded onto outbound trucks while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery. The Material Handler II works in a fast-paced distribution environment and is expected to follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety requirements, and quality standards. This position requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work to meet daily shipping and carrier deadlines. Key Responsibilities
- Load outbound trucks safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Scan customer orders to the appropriate pallet, shipment, or staging location.
- Build, wrap, label, and stage pallets for outbound transportation.
- Verify shipment information and ensure orders are placed on the correct pallet and loaded onto the correct trailer.
- Perform final shipment checks to help prevent mis-shipments, shortages, and shipping errors.
- Move finished orders from shipping lanes to designated staging and loading areas.
- Operate approved material-handling equipment as trained and authorized.
- Maintain accurate scanning and shipping transactions within applicable warehouse systems.
- Follow carrier schedules, shipping priorities, and daily cutoff times.
- Communicate shipment discrepancies, damaged product, system issues, or safety concerns to the Shipping Lead or Supervisor.
- Maintain clean and organized docks, staging lanes, and work areas.
- Follow all site safety, quality, regulatory, and operational procedures.
- Support additional shipping and distribution activities as business needs require. Requirements: Education: High School Diploma

Required Experience: 1+ year of working knowledge of warehouse or shipping processes, including order scanning, pallet building, staging, truck loading, shipping documentation, and safe material-handling practices Day in the Life – Examples 1. Preparing and Scanning Outbound Orders You begin your shift by reviewing shipping priorities and carrier schedules with the team. Throughout the day, you scan completed customer orders to the correct outbound pallet or staging location, verify labels and shipment information, and make sure orders are properly consolidated. You identify and escalate discrepancies before they become shipping errors. 2. Building Pallets and Loading Trucks As carrier pickup times approach, you prepare completed pallets for shipment by ensuring they are properly built, wrapped, labeled, and staged. You move pallets to the appropriate dock door and safely load outbound trailers according to shipping requirements while verifying that the correct freight is loaded onto the correct truck. 3. Supporting Shipping Operations and On-Time Delivery During high-volume periods, you work closely with Shipping Leads, transportation partners, and other warehouse departments to keep orders moving. You may help clear staging lanes, reorganize freight, perform shipment checks, resolve scanning issues, and prepare the dock for the next carrier. Before completing your shift, you help ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and ready for continued operations. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 1. Shipping and Material-Handling Knowledge Working knowledge of warehouse and shipping processes, including order scanning, pallet building, staging, truck loading, shipping documentation, and safe material-handling practices. Ability to learn and correctly follow site SOPs and established shipping processes. 2. Accuracy, Organization and Attention to Detail Ability to accurately scan, verify, and stage customer orders in a fast-paced distribution environment. Strong attention to detail is required to ensure the correct orders are assigned to the correct pallets, staging lanes, carriers, and outbound trailers. 3. Safety, Teamwork and Communication Demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, leads, supervisors, and other departments; recognize and escalate problems; work collaboratively as part of a team; and adjust priorities to support customer requirements and daily shipping deadlines. Physical and Work Environment Requirements This position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and material handling throughout the shift. Team members must be able to work in an active distribution center and shipping dock environment and safely perform the physical requirements of the position in accordance with company policies. The Material Handler II is expected to demonstrate professionalism, accountability, quality, safety awareness, and a customer-focused mindset while contributing to the overall success of the Tracy Distribution Center. Compensation and Benefits The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $15.85–$23.77. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
