Safety

• Ensure safe work systems/procedures including inspections are always practised and adhered to ensuring duties are performed in a manner that minimises risk to self, employees, and contractors.
• Always maintain exemplary standard of housekeeping, safe work, incident/accident reporting & active involvement in safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
• Abide by and proactively comply with Company policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems, as well as all relevant legislation.
• Understand and familiarise oneself with site Emergency evacuation procedures. Company / Leadership
• Display conduct which is aligned with company Core Values, Policies and Procedures.
• Lead by example and actively participate to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
• Initiate and provide input into company directives in collaboration with the Site Management team. Behaviour / Attitude
• Support and follow all lawful instructions/directives from direct supervisor.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and take responsibility for own conduct and behaviour in the workplace.
• Ensure good, clear lines of communication between all stakeholders, including the Site Management team, co-workers, and contractors Knowledge / Skills / Duties
• Perform pre-operational and post-operational checks
• Read and accurately follow mine instruction plan with skill and precision ensuring holes are drilled to design line, gradient and profile
• Accurately drill a number of drive drill patterns using a mechanised hydraulic or electric Jumbo drill to suit conditions of the drive
• Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements
• Carry our underground development and production work, stripping, ground support and other mining tasks
• Ensure that all tools are serviceable and safe.
• When required, Supervise and trains operator, and works with trades and non-trades persons carrying out other tasks in and around the underground mine Teamwork
• Communicate with surveyors, geologists, and engineers to optimise drill patterns and metres.
• Lead a crew of workers
• Work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals – both within own department and site wide.
• Leverage the talent and knowledge within the team to resolve problems
• Deputise for the UG Shift Supervisor in their absence Planning & Organisation
• Prioritise and complete tasks accurately as to specifications as assigned by direct supervisor within required timeframes.
• Proactively identify and address hazards before they arise as issues.
• Be punctual to work and all required site meetings.
• Undertake other duties as lawfully instructed
