  • We pay 95% to 99% of medical insurance premiums for full-time employees, including mental health coverage.

Position Highlights The Jackson County Circuit Court in Medford, Oregon, is hiring a Jury Clerk (Court Operations Associate). In this role, you will communicate daily with jurors over the phone and by email regarding all aspects of our petit (trial) jury and grand jury processes. You will review online juror responses, dismiss or postpone potential jurors’ service as needed, scan and enter documents into juror records, and prepare and record our nightly juror reporting messages. You will conduct weekly in-person jury orientation sessions in front of approximately 75 potential jurors. You will also assemble and distribute juror lists for the courtrooms and maintain juror attendance and payroll records. For grand juries, you will send letters to potential jurors, conduct orientation, issue jury oaths, swear in potential alternate jurors, assemble and populate jurors into prospective panels after orientation, maintain juror records, and enter grand jury payroll on a biweekly basis. You will work as a team with other jury clerks to ensure a great experience for all our jurors. Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs. The qualified candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent. AND At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents. OR Any combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.   • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict deadlines in a busy business or professional setting.
  • Experience using a variety of software programs to access and input information and complete various tasks.

  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances.
  • Skill in public speaking and addressing large groups (more than 25 audience members). Working Conditions
  • This is a full-time position, and the work schedule typically is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 per workweek.
  • Occasional early-morning, after-hours, or overtime work may be required.
  • This position requires public speaking to provide jury orientation sessions for large groups of jurors each week.
  • Daily phone and in-person contact with jurors regarding jury service.
  • Frequent email, phone, and in-person contact with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Frequent phone and in-person contact with people who may be facing challenging life circumstances, highly stressful situations, or trauma, including people who are angry, hostile, confused, or frustrated.
  • Daily data entry and working with confidential documents and information.
  • Long periods of sitting or standing.
  • Lifting loads that weigh up to 40 pounds may be required.
  • Regular use of the following equipment: telephone, OJD-assigned computer with multiple monitors, multimedia equipment, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.
  • The qualified candidate must start the process of CJIS clearance within the first week of hire.
