Description Principal Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology, Neurology Remote U.S. or Palo Alto, CA About GondolaBio GondolaBio is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing breakthrough therapeutics for genetic diseases. GondolaBio is an independent sister company to BridgeBio, originally carved out in 2024 after securing $300M in private financing from external investors. GondolaBio aims to leverage cutting-edge biological research to discover, create, test, and deliver transformative medicines to treat patients who suffer from genetic diseases. Who You Are You are an experienced in vivo pharmacology scientist with expertise in Neurology. You have demonstrated success in developing and/or applying in vivo disease models to drug discovery campaigns. You have extensive hands-on experience with rodent Neurology model characterization, test article dosing, tissue processing, and common wet lab techniques (e.g. qPCR, Western blot, ELISA). You are execution-oriented, capable of driving work through CROs and external partners, and thrive in a fast-paced biotech environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute on in vivo pharmacology studies across multiple Neurology programs in our research portfolio in rodents and non-human primates, with goals of IND submission.
  • Partner with toxicology and translational teams to ensure our in vivo pharmacology data package is rigorous, reproducible, and translatable — directly informing dose selection and go/no-go decisions.
  • Develop and implement pharmacodynamic and efficacy assessments, troubleshoot assays, and QC data from CROs and external partners.
  • Manage CRO relationships and monitor study progress for ongoing studies, identifying emerging risks, while presenting progress updates in team meetings.
  • Analyze data from in vivo pharmacology endpoints including PK/bioanalysis and pharmacodynamic and/or efficacy endpoints. Requirements Preferred Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience within in vivo pharmacology.
  • Experience with small molecules and antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) is preferred.
  • Experience in rare disease or developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE) models is strongly preferred.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity as demonstrated by routine engagement with scientific community and familiarity with literature.
  • Direct experience and willingness to continue to design pharmacology studies with direct involvement and leading coordination of external efforts.
  • Exposure to IND-enabling studies and experience writing regulatory or technical reports.

  • Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. The base pay range for this position is $173,000 to $205,000 per year. The actual compensation offered will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including experience, skills, qualifications, and location. A bonus plan and equity will also be offered.
