Job Description At Arctic Wolf, we're not just navigating the cybersecurity landscape

  • we're redefining it. Our global team of dedicated Pack members is driving innovation and setting new industry standards every day. Our impact speaks for itself: we've earned recognition on the Forbes Cloud 100, CNBC Disruptor 50, Fortune Future 50, and Fortune Cyber 60 lists, and we recently took home the 2024 CRN Products of the Year award. We’re proud to be named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape for Worldwide Managed Detection and Response Services and earning a Customers' Choice distinction from Gartner Peer Insights . Our Aurora Platform also received CRN’s Products of the Year award in the inaugural Security Operations Platform category. Join a company that’s not only leading, but also shaping, the future of security operations. Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a Developer 3 to be part of making this happen. About the Role You’ll work on the software stack that runs inside Arctic Wolf’s network sensors — physical appliances and virtual sensors deployed across customer environments. The team owns everything from the on-sensor Go services and Python tooling, to the AWS infrastructure that manages, monitors, and upgrades sensors at scale. You’ll write code that ships inside customer networks, runs 24/7 without human intervention, and needs to be correct the first time. What You’ll Do
  • Build and maintain on-sensor Go and Python services — daemons, config managers, upgrade pipelines, and tunneling infrastructure
  • Own AWS infrastructure used for sensor management: ECS services, CloudFormation stacks, EC2 instances, S3 artifact pipelines, and CloudWatch observability
  • Improve and extend the CI/CD platform: Jenkins pipelines, Docker build environments, Robot Framework cell tests that spin up virtual sensors on AWS/Azure/VMware and validate end-to-end behaviour
  • Debug hard problems: kernel networking (eBPF/XDP, Suricata, iptables), multi-platform VM orchestration, Ansible-based sensor provisioning, and production incidents traced through CloudWatch Logs Insights
  • Contribute to sensor upgrade and deployment automation (Ansible, Debian packaging, manifest-driven rollouts)
  • Work across the full stack — from BPF maps pinned on a sensor’s kernel to ECS services in AWS serving REST APIs to the portal What We’re Looking For
  • 3–5 years of professional software development experience
  • Strong AWS hands-on experience: EC2, ECS (Fargate + EC2 launch types), S3, CloudWatch (Logs, Metrics, Alarms), CloudFormation or CDK, IAM
  • Proficiency in Python — writing production services, CLI tooling, and test automation (Robot Framework or pytest)
  • Comfort with Linux systems programming: systemd, networking (iptables, interfaces, routing), Debian packaging, shell scripting
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent) and Docker-based build environments
  • Strong debugging skills — able to trace a production problem from a CloudWatch log through to a root cause in code Nice to Have
  • Ansible for fleet configuration and provisioning
  • Networking depth: VLANs, SPAN/TAP modes, DHCP, tunneling protocols (FRP, WireGuard)
  • eBPF/XDP or kernel networking (Suricata, nmap, packet capture)
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or Azure for infrastructure testing
  • Familiarity with sensor/appliance software or embedded Linux About Arctic Wolf At Arctic Wolf, we foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that thrives on diversity of thought, background, and culture.
