What You'll Be Doing Day to Day

As a Health Scientist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Initiating, planning, organizing, executing, monitoring, controling, and closing IT projects throughout the project life cycle using EPLC and SDLC methodologies. Supporting enterprise data management systems; developing and implementing project management procedures, protocols, and templates for maintaining data management and analytical tools, systems, and platforms. Developing and deploying knowledge management, project management, and decision support tools, models, and procedures to achieve situational awareness. Providing technical advice and scientific guidance to national, state, and local health agencies and partner organizations. What We Are Looking for

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Planning, managing, and evaluating complex IT and informatics projects using project management and software development lifecycle methods (i.e., planning work, coordinating activities, tracking progress, implementing systems, and testing solutions). Supporting and guiding the design, maintenance, and improvement of data systems and analytic platforms used for public health analyses, surveillance, and response activities Developing technical solutions to support situational awareness, decision-making, or emergency response operations. Collaborating with partners to provide scientific guidance, translating data into reports and visualizations, and presenting findings and recommendations to leadership and other stakeholders.
