As Senior Procurement Manager, Timber AMETA, you will lead a significant regional procurement category across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Based in Sydney, you’ll join our global Blue Forest team and play a key role in evolving how we source timber, balancing commercial performance, security of supply, sustainability and the long-term needs of our business. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a large and strategically important category, lead and develop a small team, and work with senior stakeholders and suppliers across multiple markets while contributing to the continued transformation of our global procurement approach. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead the regional sourcing strategy for timber across AMETA, translating our global Blue Forest strategy into practical solutions that respond to the needs and challenges of individual markets.
• Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships, including commercial negotiations, contracts, supplier performance and identifying and developing new sources of supply.
• Build a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and cost drivers to identify opportunities for cost improvement, manage risk and deliver regional Opex and Capex targets.
• Balance today's commercial priorities with longer-term supply planning, working across Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance and Sustainability to understand future timber requirements and mitigate supply risk.
• Lead, coach and develop two procurement team members based across Australia and South Africa, building capability and supporting the adoption of new procurement approaches across the region.
• Help deliver our sustainability ambitions through our supply network, identifying opportunities that support forest restoration, regeneration and conservation alongside our commercial objectives. What Will Make You Successful:
• Strong direct procurement experience within a manufacturing or technical product environment.
• Experience sourcing timber, forestry, building or construction materials, packaging or similar products would be highly regarded.
• Strong commercial capability across supplier negotiations, contracts, cost modelling and supplier development.
• Ability to balance immediate commercial delivery with longer-term strategic thinking and supply risk.
• Strong relationship and influencing skills, working effectively with suppliers, operational teams and senior stakeholders.
• A hands-on and curious mindset, with the ability to understand manufacturing processes, technical cost drivers and develop new sources of supply across the region. Why join CHEP?
