group is involved in data analyses focusing on W and Z production, Higgs, top quark and Beyond Standard Model physics. In addition, the group is involved in the operation of the ATLAS detector and developments for future upgrades, such as the ATLAS silicon strip tracker for the High Luminosity
Lhc. a
new Emmy Noether group within the ATLAS group will be addressing limitations to the measurement of total Higgs boson decay rates by scrutinising some of the foundational assumptions underlying these measurements and identifying areas where these assumptions can be reevaluated or relaxed. We are hiring a PhD candidate to work on aspects of this project. ## About your role:
- Higgs boson width determination using H->ZZ events using ATLAS data
- Tests of the stability of the results with respect to various assumptions in the measurement
- Effective field theory (EFT) interpretations
- Study of electron shower shape development in the ATLAS detector (authorship qualification) ## About you:
- Master in physics, including courses on experimental particle physics
- Experience in data analysis
- Experience in programming (preferably C++ or Python)
- Team-working ability
