Without Compensation - Research Health Systems Specialist

Summary This position serves as Without Compensation Research Health System Specialist within the Office of Research and Development (ORD). The VA Research Program strives to promote Veteran-centered care to improve patient experiences and outcomes across VA healthcare and community settings, and to advance value-driven care by providing Veterans the highest quality care at the lowest financial burden. Please note, there is not pay associated with this position. Duties Please note this is a without compensation appointment and no pay is associated with this position. Conduct, organize, and management of clinical research studies. Study coordination, data collection and management, conduct informed consent process per protocol and regulatory requirements. Prepare and submit regulatory documents to the IRB. Manage study amendments and renewls. Report adverse events and protocol deviations to the PI and regulatory agencies as well as the Research Compliance Officer. Coordinate communication among investigators, nurses, VA staff and sponsors. Work Schedule: Full time; Monday

Qualifications You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Individual Occupational Requirement for Health System Specialist GS-0671: In order to be considered for a GS-0671 Research Health System Specialist, you must possess either the below education or general experience. Education: Undergraduate and graduate education Major study -- hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.~OR~ General Experience: Work that required a knowledge of the basic principles and practices related to the management of a health care delivery system. Such experience may have been gained as an administrative officer, management analyst, or administrative or clinical program manager or supervisor in a health care delivery system. Basic Requirement: All qualified applicants must meet this Basic Requirement for the WOC Research Health Systems Specialist
• 0671. Possess experience such as study coordination, data collection and management, and preparing research documents. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
