Test Lab Production Manager

Job Description Summary The Test Lab Production Manager will be the lead resource for all Test Lab teams. This position will identify manpower needed, develop, manage, and direct the daily activities for all test lab supervisors/teams across three shifts. The Test Lab Manager will develop and execute daily/weekly/monthly manufacturing plans that are aligned with the overall goals of the business. • Lead and maintain high safety standards and expectations for all lab processes and teams.
• Lead resource for all Test Lab teams – serve as key resource for Test Lab teams to escalate issues, gain support, and implement change. Will work cross-functionally with support teams to drive improvement, resolve disruptions, and ensure production teams can meet goals and targets.
• Responsibility for setting weekly targets for all teams that align with business targets and goals
• Ensure teams are meeting all customer and quality requirements across each test process.
• Develop standard shift pass down/communication processes for second/third shifts to ensure strong information flow and coordination.
• Responsible for the cost-effective use of human resources in the production process. Including the cost-effective use of overtime.
• Identify training/cross-training needs within the department and working with the Supervisors, training team, and QA department to accomplish. Strategic
• Strategic planning of resources/manpower based on upcoming workloads and product mix
• Strategic planning of Test Lab line layouts, equipment, and product mixes as the market continues to grow and change
• Provide leadership to the team, set targets and manufacturing plans that support the organization goals and targets
• Manage all tooling and fixtures needed for Test Lab teams as well as the budget.
• Drive improvement
• Identify and develop continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen events) within the Test Labs and work with Lean team to schedule, initiate, and complete together Team Development
• Develop and Manage Supervisors – manage daily tasks, identify areas for training and development, mentoring/coaching, setting targets and goals, provide guidance and support, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback.
• Develop next generation of Team Leads and Supervisors – create opportunities, standards, and training plans for career development
• Ensure compliance/consistency among supervisors with site policies, professional standards such as occupational health and safety, and customer requirements Other
• Support Sales/Project Management as needed on customer visits and inquiries related to production Educational Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business or a comparable discipline or associate’s degree and 8 years of supervisory experience, or 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment may be substituted for educational requirement.
• High school diploma / GED is required. Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in a manufacturing leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Circuit Breaker testing and processes required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Sharp production focus with a drive for accurate results
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient knowledge of SAP preferred
• Exceptional negotiation and conflict resolution attributes
• Flexible to work required hours to meet project deadlines
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel. Ability to learn other application software essential to performing job tasks. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
