Supervisory Social Worker

Summary This position is located within the California Area Youth Regional Treatment Centers (YRTC) at Desert Sage Youth Wellness Center in Hemet, CA, and Sacred Oaks Healing Center in Davis, CA. The position provides clinical and program leadership for the therapeutic milieu and coordinates interdisciplinary treatment within residential operations to support safe and effective behavioral health services.

• Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Social Worker Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Provides clinical and programmatic leadership for the therapeutic milieu, coordinating daily residential operations, therapeutic activities, behavioral interventions, crisis response, and implementation of interdisciplinary treatment recommendations to support safe, effective, and continuous behavioral health treatment. Plans, assigns, prioritizes, and evaluates the work of assigned employees. Establishes performance expectations and standards; communicates assignments and priorities; monitors work progress and performance; and provides instruction, coaching, and feedback. Coordinates interdisciplinary treatment activities to promote continuity and consistency of care across disciplines, work shifts, and residential program operations. Supports quality improvement, program evaluation, accreditation readiness, and compliance activities for residential behavioral health operations. Assesses and responds to behavioral health emergencies and resident crises within the incumbent's professional scope of practice and coordinates appropriate clinical and operational responses to support resident safety, continuity of treatment, and effective functioning of the therapeutic milieu. Establishes daily clinical-operational priorities, resolves routine issues affecting the therapeutic milieu, and adapts treatment implementation to changing resident and program needs. Refers significant clinical, policy, or organizational matters to the supervisor or interdisciplinary treatment team, as appropriate. • Social Work Series 0185 Degree: Social Work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- Minimum Qualifications:GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks, examples include: Professional clinical social work experience providing clinical and programmatic leadership in a behavioral health, residential treatment, or comparable setting; independently assessing and managing complex or high-risk cases using advanced clinical assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and therapeutic methods; developing, implementing, evaluating, or improving social work or behavioral health services and professional practice standards; coordinating services within an interdisciplinary treatment environment; and exercising supervisory or program leadership responsibilities, including directing or assigning work, evaluating or supporting employee performance, participating in recruitment and personnel actions, providing staff consultation and development, and addressing operational or employee issues. And Selective Placement Factor: Must possess a current, active, unrestricted clinical social work license issued by a U.S. State, territory, or the District of Columbia that authorizes independent clinical social work practice (e.g., LCSW, LICSW, LISW, CISW, or state equivalent). Supervisory Abilities: This is a supervisory position and candidates, in addition to the professional qualifications listed, must have demonstrated in their work experience or training, that they possess, or have potential to develop, the qualities of successful supervision, as required for this position.
