Job Description The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Adolescent Medicine Pediatrics, Assistant/Associate Professor, Pediatrics Department, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. ROLE of the POSITION The Department of Pediatrics, at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, is recruiting for a full-time Adolescent Medicine Pediatric faculty member at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. The successful candidate must demonstrate solid clinical, teaching and leadership skills, have excellent interpersonal skills, be team oriented, and embrace educational innovation. This role will be centered on the primary and subspecialty care clinical setting. Clinical care will be provided at area hospitals to include Sunrise/Children’s Hospital, UMC/Children’s Hospital and others as assigned. Outpatient clinical care will be provided at the UNLV Health Faculty Practice plan clinic(s). Additional administrative responsibilities may include participation on hospital, departmental and university committees, and pediatric outreach activities/advocacy. Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a MD or DO from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and completion of ACGME accredited residency program. Candidates must be board eligible or board certified, and completion of a fellowship is required. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date. Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, Nevada pharmacy and DEA licenses, and malpractice insurance. They must also meet credentialing requirements and be able to obtain privileges at affiliated hospitals and other site locations as needed. The candidate’s educational credentials, terminal degree, experience in an academic medical institution or equivalency, research and scholarly activity will be considered in determining the candidate’s recommended rank. The SOM Faculty Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure (FAPT) Committee will use the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV (SOM) promotion criteria to recommend rank to the Dean of the SOM. Tenure consideration may be given upon hire on a case by case basis depending on verified previous credentials, the FAPT recommendation, and SOM Dean's recommendation.
