Job Description: Are you interested in building a career in risk assessment, pricing, and Group Benefits? As an Associate Group Underwriter, you’ll evaluate risk, analyze pricing opportunities, and help provide insurance solutions that balance Client needs and business objectives. Working closely with sales partners and other stakeholders, you’ll contribute to the growth and profitability of Sun Life’s Group Benefits business. What will you do?
  • Assess risk and determine pricing, financial terms, and contractual conditions for Group Life, Disability, Health, Dental, and Critical Illness products.
  • Complete renewals, quotations, plan change requests, and new business analyses within established service standards.
  • Partner with sales teams to understand Client needs, evaluate risk profiles, and support business growth opportunities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations that help Clients manage risk and benefit plan costs while meeting profitability objectives. What do you need to succeed?
  • University degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to analyze numerical and financial information.
  • Sound judgment, decision-making, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to explain decisions clearly in writing and verbally. What’s in it for you?

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
