Summary Responsible for performing semi-skilled manual labor work in keeping offices, buildings and surrounding grounds in a clean and orderly condition. Pay Range: $16.41 - $18.14 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned .
- Maintain City facilities’ flooring by sweeping, mopping, shampooing and scrubbing.
- Clean woodwork, furniture, desk, chairs, filing cabinets and telephones.
- Complete detailed vacuuming of carpets and other applicable surfaces.
- Maintain sanitary condition of facilities by cleaning sinks, mirrors, countertops, toilets and drinking fountains.
- Complete special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- No experience required
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Preferred Qualifications Education/ Experience:
- 6 months to 1 year experience in maintenance, custodial services or similar experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- General knowledge of maintenance upkeep
- Skill in operating general cleaning maintenance equipment
- Ability to work to make independent decisions
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with City personnel Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License Physical Requirements / Work Environment The incumbent works in an outdoor and indoor environment; with occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Requires ability to carry 20 to 30 pounds. Tasks require physical labor, exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
