Sierra West Airlines - Dispatch Manager

Are you an experienced aircraft dispatcher with proven leadership experience? Sierra West Airlines is a family-owned Part 135 private charter operator with more than 35 years of aviation experience. We are seeking a Dispatch Manager to lead our dispatch team and support the safe and efficient operation of Sierra West’s Part 135 charter flights and affiliated Part 125 cargo operations through a shared-service model. Responsibilities and

DUTIES:

• Maintain coordination and communication with dispatchers and flight control followers.
• Ensures the timely dissemination of changes in operational procedures and policies to active flight crews and flight followers on duty.
• Record Crewmembers flight time in compliance with the company’s crew scheduling procedures to ensure that each flight has a legal crew available to complete all flight operations for all flight segments.
• Coordinate with the Operations and Maintenance to ensure the aircraft status will permit the intended operation to be conducted safely and in accordance with applicable Minimum Equipment List/Configuration Deviation List items (MEL/CDL) limitations/restrictions at the scheduled departure time.
• Advise the appropriate personnel of potential or actual delays and/or problems.
• Provide operational data and reports to personnel, as necessary.
• Review and audit trips and operational procedures daily for accuracy.
• Update permits and aircraft certification as needed.
• Write and perform monthly one-on-ones with dispatchers, as well as conduct annual reviews.
• Coordinate and ensure that all ground handling, deicing, fuel, landing/departure slots, and international handling, customs, landing/over-flight permits are in order before releasing a flight.
• Ensure all flights are released In compliance with the FAA rules and regulations and FAR’s.
• Collect, discuss, and review weather and aeronautical information to help assist in aircraft/pilot dispatch.
• Ensure the highest priority of each dispatcher is the safety of the flight, which includes following all FAA/FAR rules and regulations.
• Develop and maintain a monthly dispatch schedule, ensuring that a dispatcher is on duty during all active flight operation activities.
• Maintain a means of communication to monitor the progress of each flight with respect to its departure at the point of origin and arrival at its destination, including intermediate stops and diversions.
• Oversee TSA passenger screening and compliance processes, ensuring required checks are completed accurately and in accordance with applicable security requirements.
• Maintain and help improve the Company’s internal aviation software, by supporting day-to-day use, identifying operational needs, and helping implement practical updates that improve the dispatch team’s workflow.
• Responsible to the DO for all search and rescue notifications.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• FAA Dispatch License
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
• Experience with managing a remote team of 10 or more
• Willingness to relocate to one of our bases in Oakdale, CA/Toledo, OH, or El Paso, TX
• College degree preferred
• Proficient computer skills
• Detail oriented
• Self-starter
• Must be able to multi-task
• Excellent verbal and written communication
