Job Summary Summary Responsible for providing therapeutic aquatic instruction to patients of various age groups with physical or developmental needs in a hospital or rehabilitation setting. Collaborates with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized aquatic exercise programs to improve patients' mobility, strength, and overall well-being. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions -Design and implement individualized aquatic therapy sessions based on patient assessments and therapeutic goals. -Monitor patients during swim sessions to ensure safety, proper technique, and effective rehabilitation exercises. -Collaborate with therapists and healthcare providers to adjust treatment plans based on patient progress. -Maintain and ensure the cleanliness, safety, and appropriate temperature of the pool area. -Educate patients and caregivers on proper aquatic exercise techniques and post-therapy care. -Maintain accurate records of patient attendance, progress, and session outcomes. -Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and infection-control procedures in aquatic environments. -Assist in the development and implementation of group aquatic therapy classes as needed. - Strong knowledge of therapeutic swimming techniques and principles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to assess and adapt swim therapy programs based on individual patient needs.
- Proficient in water safety and emergency response procedures.
