Description Job Purpose / Summary The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for picking orders, palletizing, and loading and unloading products and cases. This role works in areas with temperature variations, including freezer (negative 10°F), cooler (37°F), and dry warm storage (78°F and above), for extended periods, and involves continually lifting cases to palletize product. Warehouse team members utilize wearable software devices to ensure accurate product selection. Essential Job Functions The following duties are considered essential functions of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Responsible for pulling products for Agency Partner orders, removing product from storage to fill, stage, and load orders for shipment on a FIFO (first-in, first-out) basis. Storage locations are found throughout the warehouse, though work activity may be confined to a specific area, such as the freezer or cooler.
  • Performs freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment (when certified), using a hand-held selecting device as required.
  • Assists local agency representatives in picking up orders and assists with product receipt and distribution processes as needed.
  • May train and direct volunteers in performing various warehouse duties.
  • Verifies all outbound products with drivers for Agency Deliveries and Mobile Distributions to ensure orders are accurate and accounted for.
  • Keeps accurate records on load sheets, inventory sheets, scrap sheets, and computerized equipment, properly marks paperwork when making adjustments for product shortages, and ensures all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs.
  • Reports any product or packaging issues and maintains communication with other departments, management, and employees, notifying them of any problems or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of warehouse operations.
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, with a strong focus on housekeeping, documentation, sanitation, and food safety processes, which are essential to Three Square's success given inspections by NDA, AIB, USDA, SNHD, and Feeding America.
  • Utilizes a continuous improvement mindset, assisting in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Education & Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of food warehouse experience required.
  • Experience operating hand and electric pallet jacks and forklifts required.
  • An understanding of warehouse management software is required. Skills & Abilities
  • Basic math skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers), along with sorting and reading skills.
  • Working knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and usage.
  • Ability to speak clearly over the phone and on a walkie-talkie radio.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, maintain attention to detail, handle interruptions, stay focused, and produce accurate work.

  • Must be able to push and pull pallets weighing over 2,000 pounds using manual pallet jacks.
  • Ability to talk, hear, and smell continually, including the ability to detect spoiled or damaged product.
  • Close vision is required to read labels, documents, and inventory screens; distance vision is required to navigate the warehouse and operate equipment safely.
  • Distance vision and depth perception are required to operate motorized equipment or drive an automobile if operating equipment or driving is a job requirement. Work Environment
  • Work is performed in a warehouse.
  • The work environment is indoors and climate-controlled, though temperatures may fluctuate significantly with seasonal conditions, becoming very hot or very cold.
  • Entrances may be open; work conditions can be very hot during the summer months and very cold during the winter months.
  • May frequently enter and exit freezers and coolers, with exposure to extreme temperature variations.
  • Moderate noise levels are found in business offices with computer printers, households with TVs and kitchen appliances, and while driving in light traffic.
  • Occasional elevated noise levels due to motorized vehicle traffic operating within the building.
  • The workspace may be very dusty.
  • May be exposed to spoiled food and sharp objects when handling damaged product.
  • May periodically work outside and be exposed to the elements.
  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
