Machine Operator

We are now recruiting for a Machine Operative to join us on a permanent term. Reporting to the Shift Manager this role will ensure that we achieve our business goals across DS Smith Packaging. Key Accountabilities:

• Be accountable for own and others health and safety whilst at work, operating in line with SSOW (safe systems of work) and company procedures to enable a safe working environment.
• Raise any unsafe acts seen immediately with individual(s) concerned and immediate reporting of health and safety incidents to management
• Be responsible for the operation of machinery to ensure efficiencies are maximised and downtime is minimised.
• Achieve set productivity and performance targets ensuring consistent quality standards are met.
• To ensure that maintenance and cleaning tasks are carried out correctly and in line with the planned maintenance schedule. Support and assist with improvement initiatives Hours of work: The site operates a 3-shift rotation pattern (short shift on Friday's) of:
• Dayshift: 6am – 2.00pm
• Afternoons: 2.00pm – 10.00pm
• Nights: 10.00pm
• 6am Experience and Key Attributes required:
• Experience of working in a production/machine operating environment
• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
• Enthusiasm to join our expanding team

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
