Assistant Meat Cutter

Description Summary The Assistant Meat Cutter works closely with the butcher to keep the meat display case full and abundant. They help cut, grind, wrap, label, and slice meat and cheese. They also help keep the meat room clean and sanitary. This role also supports the meat room by buying from smaller vendors, including fresh fish and local meat. Status: Reports to Butcher Pay Level IV, $17.00 - $19.00/hr Full-Time, Tuesday through Saturday Meat Cutting

• Cutting primal cuts and grinding
• Appropriately wrapping and labeling meat.
• Assisting with slicing and wrapping cold meats and cheeses.
• Stocks the meat display case as needed and keeps items rotated by sell-by date
• Answers customer questions about meat Buying
• Review invoices for accuracy, price changes, and product additions. Keeps the inventory database updated.
• Quality control of goods sold, including returning rejected goods and spoiling items
• Maintains targeted margin goals
• Category management, including responding to movement reports to replace slow movers and bring in new products.
• EnsuresAssists merchandising standards are met, including keeping the products abundantly stocked and tagged appropriately
• Assisting in performing quarterly inventory counts Team Member
• Cleans up after work is done and helps keep the meat room clean and sanitary
• Follows proper protocols and procedures to ensure the meat room is compliant with regulations. Requirements Desired Skills
