Team Description Digital Assets & Data Platforms is responsible for creating the platforms, standards, and scalability needed to support a rapidly expanding digital assets ecosystem – from custody and wallet infrastructure to tokenized product enablement. The team is also responsible for creating a modern data ecosystem that supports growth and innovation while ensuring consistency, integrity, and accessibility of core Wealth Management data across all platforms. Sub-Team Description The Data Platforms team is responsible for defining, building, and evolving the foundational data capabilities that enable the organization to deliver trusted, consistent, and high-quality data products to platforms, applications, business users, and downstream consumers. The team plays a central role in advancing the broader data strategy by ensuring that critical data is accessible, reliable, well-governed, and fit for purpose across the enterprise ecosystem. Roles and Responsibilities The Vice President Product Owner for the Data Platforms team is responsible for driving the delivery of data platform capabilities and high-quality data products that support platform and consumer needs. The role leads multiple squads spanning development across the Wealth Management warehouse ecosystem. The role owns the product vision, backlog, prioritization, and execution alignment across assigned squads, with a primary focus on ensuring consumers are provided with consistent, reliable, high-quality, and fit-for-purpose data products. Key Responsibilities Own Product Vision and Squad Alignment
- Define and maintain the product vision, objectives, and roadmap for assigned data products and platform capabilities.
- Translate fleet-level strategy and stakeholder priorities into clear squad-level outcomes, features, and delivery plans.
- Ensure multiple squads are aligned to common priorities, standards, dependencies, and delivery milestones. Lead Backlog Management and Prioritization
- Own and actively manage product backlogs across multiple squads, ensuring work is well-defined, sequenced, and aligned to business value.
- Prioritize features, enhancements, technical enablers, data quality improvements, and risk reduction items based on consumer impact, strategic importance, urgency, and delivery capacity.
- Make informed trade-off decisions and provide transparency on scope, sequencing, risks, and dependencies. Deliver High-Quality Data Products
- Drive delivery of consistent, reliable, timely, and fit-for-purpose data products for platform and downstream consumer use.
- Partner with engineering, data management, architecture, and operations teams to ensure data products meet agreed quality, usability, lineage, and control expectations.
- Champion data quality requirements, validation rules, observability, documentation, and issue remediation as part of product delivery. Engage Stakeholders and Consumers
- Serve as the primary product contact for business stakeholders, platform partners, and data consumers across the assigned product area.
- Gather, clarify, and validate requirements, ensuring consumer needs are translated into actionable epics, features, and user stories.
- Communicate delivery progress, roadmap changes, risks, dependencies, and key decisions clearly and consistently. Lead Multiple Squads Through Execution
- Provide day-to-day product direction to multiple agile squads, ensuring teams understand priorities, acceptance criteria, and expected outcomes.
- Partner with squad leads, scrum masters, engineering managers, and technical leads to remove blockers and maintain execution momentum.
- Ensure squads operate with clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and disciplined delivery practices. Strengthen Governance, Controls, and Product Accountability
- Embed data governance, ownership, control, and documentation requirements into the product lifecycle.
- Ensure appropriate acceptance criteria, data definitions, lineage, metadata, entitlements, and operational readiness considerations are addressed.
- Support compliance with applicable risk, control, audit, and regulatory expectations in partnership with relevant stakeholders. Provide Leadership and Influence
- Act as a senior product leader who can influence across technology, business, operations, governance, and control functions.
- Mentor squad-level product contributors and help establish consistent product ownership practices across teams.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $190,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
