Supervising Discipline Engineer 2

We are currently seeking a Supervising Discipline Engineer 2 to support our Englewood, CO office. Purpose and Scope: Responsible for managing the discipline engineering to meet customer and project requirements regarding scope, scheduling and budgets. Provides a liaison between discipline engineers and Project Engineering Managers and between Project Managers, Chief Discipline Engineers and Principal Engineers with respect to project scope, budget, scheduling and overall engineering and design requirements and employee administration. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Coordinates the discipline's engineering with that of other disciplines. 2. Maintains records, files and other documents pertaining to the discipline. 3. Assumes responsibility for ensuring that engineering documents comply with applicable state laws/regulations, including affixing registered engineer seal when required. 4. Assigns preparers and checkers for discipline specifications and coordinates review of external specifications. 5. Establishes schedules and budgets to meet project requirements and obtains approval. 6. Maintains technical coordination with the Principal Engineer to ensure adherence to industry codes, regulatory requirements and sound engineering practices. 7. Directs the preparation and submits periodic reports and forecasts on the status of the discipline. 8. Complies with state requirements for continuing education, maintains and obtains licenses as requested. 9. Continually upgrade technical knowledge and capabilities and pursues additional coursework and training. 10. Advises the Project Engineering Manager regarding status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems. 11. Works closely with Chief Discipline Engineers, Principal Engineers and Project Engineering Managers on employees’ evaluations and promotions and the overall technical improvement of the group. 12. Leads the development of resources, engineering hour, and labor cost requirements for a project and can monitor the effect of these on the budget. 13. Able to lead all aspects of estimating for a discipline. 14. Responsible for performance management and mentoring. 15. Provides assistance to projects to address technical issues related to process improvement. 16. Assists in training and mentoring/coaching other team members. 17. Assists in the development of training programs within area of technical expertise and conducts training sessions as appropriate. 18. Creates positive working relationships with peer leaders. 19. Creates productive relationships with organizations both within and external to Engineering. 20. Ensures the quality, quantity, and completeness of discipline deliverables and engineering tasks. Minimum Requirements

• US Citizen
• Bachelors degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis (or equivalent education).
• 10+ years plus of professional experience required.
• Professional Engineering License required.
• Intermediate level of knowledge within a specific discipline and understanding of the other disciplines.
• In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards, including AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, and ACI 318
• In-depth knowledge and expertise in STAAD.Pro modeling, analysis, design, and post processing
• In-depth knowledge and expertise in MathCad, Excel, and Word
• Working knowledge of EVMS project controls for providing status and progress updates
• Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
• Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
• Position may require travel. Preferred Qualifications
• Master of Science degree in structural engineering
• Government or nuclear experience, i.e., DOD, DOE, NR
• Working knowledge of AISC Seismic Design Provisions, i.e., AISC 341
• Basic knowledge of nuclear facility design codes including ACI 349, AISC N690, ASCE 43, and DOE-STD-1020
• Working knowledge of seismic response spectrum analysis
• Basic knowledge of ANSYS analysis software
• Fully understands the process of preparing and checking calculations, as well as, approval, revision, retention, and storage of project calculations
• Fully understands drawing production and checking, as well as, approval, revision, retention, and storage of engineering drawings Compensation & Benefits:

Hiring Salary

RANGE: $125K - $185K (Annually) (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
