• Unlimited Academic Salary Range: $64,963.00 - $193,146.00 Position Purpose: The purpose of this position is to teach undergraduate & graduate credits within Health & Human Performance Department focusing mainly on Athletic Training and Exercise Science. This position will also serve as the clinical coordinator for Athletic Training majors. Responsibilities:
• Teach courses in disciplines associated with Athletic Training and Exercise Science at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The incumbent would be expected to teach courses that may include (but are not limited to) the following: Orthopedic Clinical Assessment; Therapeutic Exercise; Care & Prevention of Injury/Illness; Human Physiology; Introduction to Nutrition; Motor Learning; Medical Terminology; Biomechanics; Exercise Physiology; Exercise Testing & Interpretation; Emergency & Immediate Care; Exercise Program Design; Research Design & Methodology; General Medical Conditions; Anatomical Kinesiology, and Clinical Education courses.
• Responsible for the management and administration of clinical education for the athletic training program. Assist athletic training faculty with program planning and operation, program evaluation, and maintenance of accreditation.
• Instruct courses in varied locations, at varied times, and via various media commensurate with department and university needs.
• Engage in scholarly research or creative achievement to enhance knowledge of field.
• Provide evidence of continuing preparation and study in the field to enhance teaching abilities.
• Contribute to student growth and development including student advising. Support Minnesota State University Moorhead's strategic priority of creating a campus community that is diverse, inclusive, globally aware, and just.
• Provide service to the university and to the community. Minimum Qualifications:
• Earned Doctorate (or terminal degree) in a related discipline or field of study.
• Minimum of (5) years of experience as a Board of Certification (BOC) Athletic Trainer.
• Understanding of the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
• Eligible for state license via the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
• Teaching experience within athletic training and exercise science at the undergraduate and/or graduate level with a demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
• Must meet Higher Learning Commission [HLC] faculty credentialing guidelines [e.g. have 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline the faculty is teaching]. Preferred Qualifications:
• Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
• Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credentials.
• Current American Red Cross or American Heart Instructor Certification.
• Clinical education/preceptor experience.
• Clinical experience with patient care. Other Requirements:
