• Role focus: Production support, incident triage, functional analysis, and coordination We are looking for an experienced Specialty Business Analyst (BA) with strong knowledge of the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain to support production incident management and application support activities. The BA will take ownership of functional analysis, triage, investigation, and coordination of production incidents, reducing the incident-management workload currently handled by the existing BA team. The role requires the ability to understand insurance business processes, analyze application and data issues, and work closely with Development, QA, Operations, and business stakeholders to drive incidents through resolution. Experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and/or Specialty Insurance Administration systems is highly desirable. Incident Management & Production Support
• Take ownership of incidents raised against P&C insurance applications and perform initial triage, impact assessment, and functional analysis .
• Investigate production issues to identify whether the underlying cause relates to business process, configuration, data, integration, application functionality, or a software defect .
• Reproduce reported issues and document clear findings, business scenarios, expected versus actual system behavior, and supporting evidence.
• Resolve functional or process-related incidents wherever possible without requiring Development team involvement.
• Escalate genuine application defects to the Development team with sufficient analysis and documentation to enable efficient resolution.
• Work with Development and QA teams throughout the incident lifecycle, providing business and functional clarification as required.
• Track incidents through investigation, remediation, testing, and closure while ensuring agreed SLA and priority requirements are met.
• Identify recurring incidents and support root-cause analysis and problem-management activities to reduce repeat production issues.
• Maintain incident knowledge articles, troubleshooting documentation, known-error information, and support procedures. P&C / Specialty Insurance Business Analysis
• Apply strong understanding of Property & Casualty insurance processes , particularly policy administration and the insurance policy lifecycle.
• Analyze incidents and change requests across processes such as quote, bind, issue, endorsement, renewal, cancellation, reinstatement, and policy servicing .
• Understand insurance concepts including insureds, risk/exposure, coverage, limits, deductibles, premiums, underwriting rules, rating, forms, and policy transactions .
• Work with business and underwriting stakeholders to understand reported issues and translate business problems into clear functional requirements or technical inputs.
• Perform impact analysis for proposed fixes and minor enhancements, including downstream and integration impacts.
• Support functional validation and UAT of incident fixes and production changes. Stakeholder & Delivery Coordination
• Act as the functional bridge between business users, Operations/Support teams, QA, and Development teams .
• Communicate incident status, business impact, dependencies, risks, and resolution progress to relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in incident review, defect triage, root-cause analysis, and production-support meetings.
• Coordinate effectively with geographically distributed/onshore and offshore teams where applicable.
• Ensure appropriate handover and knowledge transfer to strengthen the overall incident-management capability.
