Supplier Manager Optics & Photonics

A Day in Your Life at MKS: As a Supplier Manager at MKS Inc. you will partner with Engineering, Procurement, Category Management and Sourcing to develop, refine, and update the optics supply base strategy. In this role, you will report to the Sr Mgr, Optics & Photonics Category. You Will Make an Impact By:

• Developing and executing supplier strategies across a designated portfolio (Develop, Maintain, Phase Out) to drive performance, alignment with business objectives, and long-term value
• Leading commercial negotiations and re-negotiations with suppliers to optimize cost, lead times, payment terms, capacity, and contractual protections in support of category strategy
• Owning supplier performance by driving operational excellence, resolving issues, and ensuring continuity of supply while meeting world-class supply chain metrics
• Assessing and enhancing supplier capability and capacity in partnership with Supplier Quality to ensure alignment with demand forecasts, quality standards, and delivery expectations
• Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks through proactive planning, clear stakeholder communication, and execution of effective mitigation strategies
• Maintaining accurate supplier data and performance metrics within SRM tools to enable transparency, informed decision-making, and continuous improvement
• Driving cross-functional alignment and acting as the primary escalation point to ensure timely resolution of supplier-related challenges and strong stakeholder engagement
• Leading supplier performance management and development efforts, including QBRs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, delivery, and cost
• Travel Requirements: Up to 30% of Travel is required. Skills You Bring:
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Demonstrable experience in the relevant area.
• PIM and/or APICS certification preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience. Preferred Skills: (Optional) · Strong commercial acumen, including understanding of cost structures and ability to drive data-informed decisions · Experience with supplier performance management frameworks (e.g., SQDC) and continuous improvement methodologies · Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to influence outcomes with suppliers · Ability to drive accountability and build effective cross-functional and supplier relationships · Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to identify and engage key partners Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Ability to observe documents and details at close range within a few feet of the observer
• Operates in a professional office and or manufacturing environment
