Work Shift (if applicable): Shift 1 (United States of America) Job Description: Assistant Supervisor, Distribution Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Starting Pay: $28.50–$29.40+ per hour, based on directly related experience. Vitalant is seeking an Assistant Supervisor, Hospital Distribution to help support the safe, accurate and timely processing of blood and blood product orders for the hospitals and healthcare facilities we serve. This is not a traditional warehouse or general distribution position. Our Distribution team operates in a highly regulated healthcare environment where accuracy, quality, compliance and attention to detail are critical. Every order involves lifesaving blood products that may be needed for surgeries, trauma care and other critical patient needs. As an Assistant Supervisor, you’ll combine hands-on blood product distribution responsibilities with day-to-day leadership of the team. You’ll help coordinate workflow, prioritize hospital orders, support employees and ensure blood products are selected, prepared and distributed according to established procedures and regulatory requirements. Important: This position requires previous Hospital Distribution Specialist OR directly related experience. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications listed below to be considered. Your Impact When a hospital places an order for blood products, our Distribution team helps ensure the correct products are selected, prepared and available when they are needed. As an Assistant Supervisor, you’ll play an important role in overseeing this process while supporting daily shift operations. You’ll help ensure hospital orders are handled accurately and efficiently, employees understand their priorities and all work is performed according to established procedures, quality standards and regulatory requirements. This position requires someone who understands the importance of following detailed processes and can remain focused and organized when managing multiple priorities, including time-sensitive hospital requests. What You’ll Do

• Assist with supervising Distribution employees and overseeing day-to-day shift operations
• Coordinate workflow, assign tasks and prioritize hospital blood product orders based on operational and customer needs
• Receive, review and prepare hospital orders for blood and blood products
• Select appropriate blood components based on product type, age and specific order criteria
• Carefully verify product information and order requirements to help ensure accuracy
• Conduct required visual inspections of blood products before packing and distribution
• Package blood products in designated storage and transportation containers according to established procedures
• Communicate directly with hospital customers regarding order fulfillment and service needs
• Recognize and appropriately escalate customer concerns to leadership or medical representatives when necessary
• Maintain accurate Hospital Services records and required documentation
• Support proper blood product storage, handling and inventory practices
• Maintain Hospital Services equipment and support required preventive maintenance activities
• Monitor shipments and help coordinate logistics to ensure products reach customers safely and efficiently
• Support departmental and individual performance goals
• Promote effective communication, teamwork and continuous process improvement
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with established procedures, quality requirements and applicable regulatory standards
• Step into a leadership role when needed to help keep operations running safely and efficiently What We’re Looking For This role requires more than general leadership or distribution experience. Because you’ll be working with lifesaving blood products in a highly regulated environment, we’re looking for someone who already has relevant experience and understands the importance of accuracy, documentation, quality and compliance. The ideal candidate is someone who can balance hands-on operational responsibilities with leadership responsibilities. You should be comfortable making decisions, prioritizing competing needs and providing direction to others while maintaining a strong focus on customer service and patient safety. Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the required qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• One year of Hospital Distribution Specialist OR related experience required
• Valid in-state driver’s license required
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds required Preferred Qualifications
• One year of team lead or supervisory experience preferred
