SUPERVISORY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST

Summary You will serve as a

Supervisory Financial Management Analyst

in the Comptroller Department, Business and Financial Management Division of

Fleet Readiness Center Southwest.

The duty location of this position Naval Air Station, San Diego, CA. Duties

• You will serve as a consultant for all aspects of business and financial management to the command and to the comptroller, as well as other management officials.
• You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
• You will analyze financial and program data to identify trends, problems, and decision points.
• You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of organization's programs and administrative operations.
• You will plan work, set priorities, and schedule work as necessary to assure effective and expeditious accomplishment of priority work without adverse effect on regular and recurring work.
• You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets in addition to providing advice on effective and efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds to support the organization’s programs and activities. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting financial policies, regulations, and practices to provide guidance on fiduciary compliance; 2) Formulating budget, cost estimates, and support plans for competency and program budgets; 3) Performing and advising on work in various phases of budget administration; 4) Utilizing a financial system of record (i.e. Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)) to extract, analyze, and interpret business and financial reports/data; 5) Applying knowledge of cost and trend analysis to make recommendations for improving forecasted program workload and resource requirements; and 6) Monitoring spend plans and execution of funding, including maintenance of associated records in financial management systems.
