Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift Description: This role will enhance our care delivery while supporting our team. Our Emergency Services Program is a state-of-the-art facility consisting of a large emergency room suite and the Observation Unit. Our goal is to provide consistent, excellent and timely care to all patients. Promote excellence through education, quality improvement, and process initiatives that align with the goals of emergency services. Develop educational material for all roles within emergency services and leads hands-on learning sessions. Utilizes PDSA improvement process to improve delivery of care. Lead quality initiatives that will improve patient outcomes. Performs analyses of process data. Organization Highlights and Benefits:

  • Work/Life: Scheduling options to balance work/life/school and recreational calendars. Responsibilities:
  • Coaches and collaborates with leadership team to drive process improvements.
  • Develops educational materials for the service line and teaches monthly classes.
  • Collaborates with nursing leadership regarding best practice and nursing research.
  • Adheres to established network policies and procedures related to job function.
  • Adheres to hospital confidentiality statement. Maintains confidentiality of all phases of the performance improvement process related to patients, physicians, staff and visitors.
  • Adheres to safety standards within the network and performance improvement service.
  • Aggregates and analyzes collected data to measure performance with established criteria
  • Ensures teams are data driven and outcome oriented.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or variance in practice patterns.
  • Utilizes national/local benchmarks to analyze data.
  • Participates in monitoring quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record.
  • Act as 1) mentor; 2) clinician; 3) educator; 4) consultant/collaborator; and 5) navigator. Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:
  • Baccalaureate Degree required.
  • 8 years of clinical experience required in appropriate discipline (Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Practitioner, or Pharmacist).
  • Lean certification highly recommended
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality highly recommended.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Knowledge of computer applications, such as MS office. Skill in using statistical software. Demonstrated skill in the acquisition, management and display of data. Ability to build rapport and coach from the front-line staff. Demonstrated ability to manage and introduce change into an organization.
  • Specialty credentialing & educational degree according to clinical practice specialty area preferred.
  • Maintains all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.
  • Participates in continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Career Path:

  • Unit Manager, Director, and Clinical Services/Nursing Administration. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
