One year of surgical assisting experience and/or Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) or Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA), radiology certification, CPR certification. Additional certification may be required based on dental specialty. Grade 3 (Hourly) Position Description: The University of Louisville School of Dentistry seeks an exceptional candidate for the position of Dental Assistant II. This position is a chairside dental assistant at the Richard L. Miller Oral Health Clinic in Elizabethtown, KY. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide four-handed dental assisting for medically compromised patients (individuals with HIV disease) including endodontic treatments, extractions, inhalation sedation, implant restorations, crown & bridge, restorative, periodontal treatments and removable prosthesis.
  • Assist as certified EDDA to place fillings, take all radiographs including CBCT images, perform coronal polishing, pouring up models and temporary crown and bridge fabrication.
  • Greet patients and seat in operatories, update patient charts and schedule appointments.
  • Stock operatories, set up operatories for patient care, clean/break down operatories in accordance with standard infection control guidelines, sterilize instruments and maintain supplies.
  • Perform necessary lab work including denture soft relines and adjustments.
  • Other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications
  • Position requires EDDA Certification.
  • The position must also stay current with OSHA regulations and be compliant with infection control policy when setting up and breaking down operatories and sterilizing instruments.
  • Additional training is required for working with special populations, or persons living with HIV disease. Target Compensation Maximum: $29.27 Target Compensation Minimum: $19.51 Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
